Monday Blotter: Stolen Catalytic Converter, Gas Theft, Drinking in Public, More

Drinking in Public

Cuauhtemoc Martinez, 49, of Niles, and Andres F. Sepulveda, 34, of Des Plaines, were issued citations for drinking in public after police observed the men drinking Ice House beer at the Metra train depot, 1501 E. Miner St., between 4:35 p.m. and 4:55 p.m. on May 2.

Theft of Gas

Police stated a man driving a white van with ladders on the top and sides, and the number 36807 on the side, left the Citgo gas station, 795 W. Golf Road, at 12:57 p.m. on May 2 without paying for $103.52 worth of gas.

Theft from Vehicle

Police stated an unknown offender removed a catalytic converter from a vehicle parked on the second floor of the Metropolitan Square parking garage sometime between 5 p.m. on April 30 and 12:45 p.m. on May 1. Property loss was estimated at $1,700.

Criminal Damage to Vehicle

The rear window of a vehicle parked in the 800 block of S. Margret Street was shattered by an unknown offender sometime between 5 p.m. on April 30 and 6 a.m. on May 1, according to the report.

Criminal Damage to Property

Police stated black, spray-painted graffiti was discovered on a stop sign and light pole at the intersection of Woodland and Grove avenues at 5:23 p.m. on April 30. Property loss was estimated at $50.
