Monday Blotter: Disorderly Conduct in Mobile Home Park, More

Assault, Disorderly Conduct

Police were dispatched for a battery report at a mobile home park in the 2900 block of S. Curtis St. at 11:04 p.m. on March 17. According to the report, Jeffrey Rak, 48, of Des Plaines, told police he was drinking alcohol at a friend’s lot when another man arrived.

Rak told police, according to the report, he had a verbal dispute with the man, at which time the man said to Rak, “If you are going to hit on me I am going to hit you.” The man then left the premise and went home.

Rak said, according to the report, he went to the man’s trailer to speak to him, and the man was very agitated and “assaulted” him by pushing him across the chest and grabbing his neck. He stumbled down the ramp backwards and called police, according to the report.

Earlier:

Rak had a minor abrasion on the left side of his neck, appeared highly intoxicated, and, according to the report, told police he had been drinking about eight hours that day.

The man told police, according to the report, while at home, he heard a loud, repetitive pounding on the side of his trailer, and Rak yelling at him from outside, which startled him.

The man told police, according to the report, when he opened the door, Rak swung at him and missed. The man told police, according to the report, that he pushed Rak across the chest as a reaction in an attempt to get away from him, and Rak left.

Rak was charged with disorderly conduct and given a court date of April 12 at Skokie courthouse.

Criminal Damage to Property

Police responded to a graffiti report at the train trestle underpass in the 400 block of Warrington Road at 12:02 p.m. on March 21. According to the report, sometime between 9:21 p.m. on Feb. 26 and 12:59 p.m. on March 21 an unknown offender spray-painted graffiti on the cement walls of the underpass. Property loss was estimated at $200.
