Man Charged With Possession of Fraudulent ID Card, Theft

Man shows police misspelled social security card

A Des Plaines man was charged with possession of fraudulent identification and retail theft May 19 after he showed police a misspelled social security card while being questioned about a shoplifting incident.

Noe Hernandez-Gonzalez, 38, of the 800 block of East Oakton Street was stopped leaving a Kmart store at 1155 E. Oakton St.with two bottles of cologne and a watch without paying for the items, according to a police report.

While he was being questioned about the incident, police found him to be in possession of a social security card with the words spelled "social spcurity" and a permanent resident card that was missing the hologram, according to the report.

Hernandez-Gonzalez said he bought the cards off of a man on 26th street in Chicago five years ago for $150.
