Man Accused of Pushing Rivers Casino Worker, More in Friday Blotter

The following arrest information was supplied by the Des Plaines Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The Des Plaines Police Department provided the following reports.

Battery

While a casino employee was cleaning a men’s bathroom at Rivers Casino, 3000 S. River Road, with the door propped open with a mop bucket and a sign stating the facility was out of service, a casino patron, later identified as Kyung Nmi Kim, of Arlington Heights, kicked the mop bucket and stumbled into the bathroom, according to the report, between 1:45 a.m. and 2:45 a.m. on Nov. 9.

When the casino worker told Kim he was not allowed in the bathroom, he said, according to police, “Get out!” and pushed the casino worker backward with his right forearm. Kim then slid along a partition wall to a urinal where he relieved himself, police stated.

Kim was issued a compliance ticket for a city ordinance battery violation.

Theft

An air conditioning unit was reported stolen from a business on the 1300 block of E. Golf Road sometime between 4 p.m. on Nov. 9 and 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 11. Property loss was estimated at $5,000.

Burglary to Vehicle

A vehicle parked on the street on the 1200 block of E. Willow Avenue was burglarized sometime between 8 p.m. on Nov. 9 and 6 p.m. on Nov. 10. Loose change and cash, a Swiss Army knife, I-Pod, amplifier and speaker box were reported stolen. Property loss was estimated at $1,160.
