Homeless Woman Hit By Car, Charged With Being Intoxicated Pedestrian

A homeless woman is facing charges of being an intoxicated pedestrian after being hit by a car in Des Plaines earlier this month, the Journal & Topics newspaper reports.

Police say Vernoica L. Gorlicki, 39, was staggering in the roadway at Lee Street and Forest Avenue the evening of Feb. 9 when a woman hit her with her car. Gorlicki was taken to Advocate Lutheran General in Park Ridge for treatment where police officers say she smelled of alcohol, the newspaper reports.

Gorlicki has been arrested for various crimes in Des Plaines in the past, including possession of open alcohol in August of 2011 and criminal damage to property and trespassing in May of 2011.
