Gambling Chips Stolen at Rivers Casino, More in Monday Blotter

The following arrest information was supplied by the Des Plaines Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The Des Plaines Police Department provided the following reports.

Theft

A purse containing $600 in gambling chips, jewelry, a cell phone and other items was reported stolen at Rivers Casino, 3000 S. River Road, sometime between 11:48 p.m. and 11:55 p.m. on Jan. 26, according to police.

The purse was knocked off the baccarat table onto the ground by its owner, according to the report, and later picked up by an unknown male subject who then hid the purse under a jacket and exited the casino, police stated. The incident was recorded on surveillance video by the casino, according to the report. Property loss was estimated at $1,477.

Illegal Dumping

A box spring and mattress were dumped next to a business’ dumpster on the 1500 block of Birchwood Avenue sometime between 9 p.m. on Jan. 29 and 9 a.m. Jan. 30, according to a police report. The complainant would arrange for the box spring and mattress to be picked up, police stated, and property loss was estimated at $30.

Illegal Dumping

Two leather couches were illegally dumped in an alley near a condominium building on the 1200 block of E. Washington Street sometime between midnight and 9 a.m. on Jan. 21, according to the report. Public works was sent a copy of the report for cleanup, police stated.
