Friday Police Blotter: BB Gun Damage, Drug Arrest

The following information was provided by the Des Plaines Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Possession of drugs

A 25-year-old Melrose Park man was charged with possession of cannabis on Jan. 12 around 8 a.m. The suspect was stopped after police witnessed him make several traffic violations, the report stated. The offender had about one-gram of marijuana in his possession, the report stated. His court date is Feb. 6.

An 18-year-old Park Ridge man was charged with possession of marijuana on Jan. 10. The offender was stopped in the 1800 block of River Road for a traffic violation. The teen had about six-grams of marijuana and a “one hitter,” according to the report.

Casino trespass

Two men were escorted out of River’s Casino after staff found out that both men were on the self-exclusionary list on Jan. 12.

BB gun damage

A car parked in the 1600 block of Walnut Avenue had its driver’s side window shattered on Jan. 5. Police believe a BB gun was used to damage the vehicle, the report stated.
