The victim said that while he was walking his dog on Howard Avenue, two men—Sanchez and someone known only as Chucky—exited a Toyota flashing gang signs. Sanchez then allegedly punched the man in the left side of the face, and both men hit and kicked him when he fell.

As he told the police his story, the victim's left eye was swollen shut, and he was bleeding from the eye and nose.

When officers caught up with Sanchez, he told them that he had been eating, sleeping and playing video games. He said he didn't know Chucky's real name or where he was.
