"I was only going to take a squad car for a little while," man tells police.

Attempted criminal trepass to vehicle

On Tuesday, March 15, Fleet Supervisor Timothy Doherty observed a man attempting to enter several squad cars in the police station parking lot. Officers went to the parking lot and saw the offender, Benjamin Hirsch Enggas, 19, of the 1700 block of Spruce Avenue, whom officers recognized from previous incidents, attempting to enter a vehicle using a key, according to the police report.

Officers asked Enggas what he was doing, to which he replied, "I'm trying to get into a squad car," according to the report. He claimed to have found the key in his home. It was later determined that the key was not a squad car key.
