Fire Ops 101 Fitting
Local Editor Lisa Cisneros gets fitted for her fire suit in preparation for Fire Ops 101 Day.
Hey Des Plaines! Just thought I'd share this photo with you in case you needed a laugh. I was fitted for my firefighter suit (still waiting to get fitted for the mask) today in preparation for Fire Ops 101, which is a simulation program being held at the Northeastern Illinois Public Training Safety Academy (NIPSTA) in Glenview on Oct. 2. There myself, city officials and other media representatives will participate in hands-on activities like firefighting, rescue and medical emergencies. My wing man for the day will be Des Plaines Fire Lieutenant Jim Hall. I'm super stoked.
