Donate or Collect a Coat at Your Local Police Department

The Park Ridge, Niles and Des Plaines police departments will be collecting gently used, old coats from Oct. 14 through Nov. 11. Residents of need can also pick up a donated coat on Nov. 17 at Maine Township Hall.

Old stuffy coats are the number-one cause of closet clutter in America. And that number is growing to astronomical proportions.

Ok, we joke.

But, the Park Ridge, Des Plaines and Niles police departments have partnered together for a coat drive to assist Maine Township families in need. With the holidays and cold weather approaching, many of us are thinking about ways that we can help others and give back to our community.

The collected coats will be distributed to Main Township residents. The departments are looking for clean, gently worn coats and jackets that are no longer of use to your family.

Where can I drop off my old coats?

You can drop off your old coats at any of the police departments (addresses listed below) from Oct. 14 through Nov. 11. There will be a drop off box in the lobby of each department.

Where and when will the coats be distributed?

Coats will be distributed on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at:
Maine Township Hall
1700 Ballard Road, Park Ridge
