Divincenzo Appears in Court on Hazing Charges

Divincenzo's attorney said he did nothing wrong at his initial court appearance, the Daily Herald reports.

Former Maine West High School soccer coach Michael Divincenzo appeared in court today on several charges related to hazing, the Daily Herald reports.

Divincenzo is facing charges of hazing, battery and failure to report abuse. He was initially suspended without pay from the school and later lost his job. One of the four Maine West High School students who is suing Maine Township High School District 207 administrators, faculty and staff over hazing and bullying allegations described his experiences, and said he believes his coach, Michael Divincenzo, knew about the assaults because he saw him wink at players, WGN reported.

Divincenzo’s next court appearance is Aug. 7 in Skokie, the Daily Herald reports.
