Paul Miller and Thomas Bauer were sworn into service as firefighter/paramedics with the City of Des Plaines at 9 a.m., Monday, July 1 in the Des Plaines City Council Chambers, 1420 Miner Street.
City of Des Plaines officials, administrative personnel, co-workers, friends and family were also in attendance to commemorate the occasion, a press release from the city states.
The new Fire Department personnel will attend the Northeastern Illinois Public Safety Training Academy (NIPSTA), Glenview from July 15, 2013 through September 13, 2013.
