Seven vehicles sustain scratches, criminal damage

On June 21, in the 300 block of South Graceland Ave.,  a resident alerted police that someone had put a long scratch on the hood of his Ford Taurus, which was parked in the rear lot.

Police observed seven other vehicles with similar scratches. Another victim saw the officer and approached to say his vehicle had sustained similar damage about a month ago, but he was unsure where it happened so he never filed a police report. Police left report numbers for two members of the condo board.

Car window discovered shattered

The owner of a car parked in the 1200 block of South White Street told police she parked the car, left with her sister to attend a wedding, and returned about 1 a.m. June 23 to discover someone had shattered the front driver side window. She said nothing was missing from the vehicle.

Nursing home employees suffer damage to vehicles

An employee of a nursing home in the 1200 block of Golf Road told police June 21 her car had sustained a four-inch scratch mark. She told police other nursing home employees have also had their cars scratched in the past 12 months.

Rear windshield smashed 

A vehicle owner told police June 21 she had parked in the 700 block of Waikiki Drive June 20, and when she returned the next day, someone had smashed the rear windshield, causing $500 in damage.
