2008 Chevy Impala Stolen, Found Burned

In a vehicle theft case, the owner of a 2008 beige Chevy Impala four-door said he parked it in front of a residence on Dover Drive around 7:30 p.m. on June 14, and when he returned around 8:30 p.m., it was gone. He said it was locked. Chicago police notified Des Plaines police June 17 that the car was found at 3030 Major Avenue, Chicago, burned.

In  a theft case June 13, sometime between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., someone took 50 12-foot 2x6 wooden beams, with a value of $500, a green wheel barrow, value $150 and an aluminum step ladder, value $75, from a construction site at 1500 Rand Road.

Gang, Hate Graffiti Defaces Property

Two incidents of graffiti marking occurred in the 1900 block of South Lee Street. On June 15, police noticed “LK” and a crown on an Ameritech utility box, and GK on the north side of the box. Also, “IGK” was painted on a bike route sign. The graffiti was removed.

Someone used spray paint to alter a sign on the back door of Threshold Martial Arts, in the 1500 block of Ellinwood Street, replacing the word “Jiu” in “Jiu Jitsu” with “Jew.” An upside down triangle was also drawn. The graffiti was removed.

$480 Bicycle Stolen

A Schwinn bicycle worth $480 was taken from a basement storage locker in the 1200 block of Brown Street.

Delivery Item Worth $313 Goes Missing, Believed Stolen

In a theft case, an iRobot 560 Roomba vacuum worth $313 was taken from a residence in the 1700 block of East Stockton Avenue. The resident bought the item on Ebay.com and Fedex confirmed they delivered the package on June 11 at 11:19 a.m. However, the resident could not find it anywhere around the perimeter of her home, nor at her neighbor’s homes.
