Des Plaines Man Sentenced for Murdering Wife

Heriberto Ramirez, of unincorporated Des Plaines, was sentenced to 45 years in prison for murdering his wife on Valentine’s Day, 2011, the Daily Herald reported.

Opening statements in the murder trial were made in November, and, in February 2011, bond was set at $10 million for Ramirez.

When patrol officers had responded to his residence at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Feb. 14, due to a 9-1-1 phone call made by his daughter, who was 9 years old at the time, in which she stated, according to law enforcement, her father was “hitting” her mother.

When police arrived they found Alicia Ramirez, at the time 45 years old, in the bathroom with extensive injuries, the Daily Herald reported.

45 YEARS, HE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN THE DEATH PENALTY OR LIFE, HE COMMIT ED A VICIOUS WICKED ACT TO SOMEONE HE MARRIED AND SUPPOSEDLY LOVED, SICK LOVE...HE DID NOT EVEN DESERVE TO HAVE A WOMEN LIKE MOST OF THESE MEN WHO DO NOT KNOW HOW TO TREAT A WOMAN. BUT MURDER...OHHHHHH NOOOOO, THE JUSTICE SYSTEM IS JUST WRONG, 45 YEARS, REALLY! GIVE ME A BREAK
