Cops: Woman Reported Suspicious Driver While Jogging, More in Wednesday Blotter

The Des Plaines Police Department provided the following reports.

Suspicious Circumstances

A suspicious car driver was reported near Algonquin Road and Cora Street between 5:45 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sept. 28. A woman told police, according to the report, while she was jogging eastbound on Algonquin Road near Cora Street, the driver of an older model silver station wagon pulled up alongside her and called, “Hey!”

The woman told police, according to the report, she looked at the driver more closely to see if it was someone she knew, and, when she realized it was not, kept running.

The station wagon driver kept following the woman, and at least two times, the driver passed her on a road in one direction, turned around, and passed her going the opposite direction, she told police, according to the report.

The station wagon driver was described as a white male subject, in the 40’s age range, with an unshaven face.

Theft

A wallet was reported stolen from a purse at Rivers Casino, 3000 S. River Road, between 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 27. The woman who reported the incident told police, according to the report, she believed her wallet was “pick-pocketed” from her purse. Property loss was estimated at $50.
