Bar Fight, $1,700 in Stolen Drugs, More in Thursday Blotter

The following arrest information was supplied by the Des Plaines Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The Des Plaines Police Department provided the following reports.

Battery, Disorderly Conduct

Police responded to a report of a fight at Excueses Bar, 901 Oakton St., at 1:03 a.m. on Dec. 30. An employee of the bar reported to police, according to the report, two men fist-fighting, one described as an unknown white male subject, and the second described as an unknown Hispanic male subject.

Blood was found on the floor of the bar, according to the report. Then, the unknown white male subject left as a passenger in a white Chevy Lumina, a witness stated, according to police, and the unknown Hispanic male left the scene in an unknown van with a Wisconsin license plate.

Police conducted an investigative stop on a white Chevy Lumina on the 1500 block of Webster Lane, police stated, and spoke with a passenger in the car, a white male subject who said he was in a fight at Excueses Bar. The man was bleeding from his right hand and was briefly treated by the Des Plaines Fire Department, according to the report, and refused to go to the hospital.

A witness told police, according to the report, while sitting at the bar at approximately 12:50 a.m., an unknown Hispanic male subject sat next to a woman and made constant sexual advances. “How much would it cost for us to [have sex]?” the man said to the woman, according to police.

The white male subject, at the bar with the woman, according to the report, asked the Hispanic male subject to leave the woman alone.

The Hispanic male subject again said, a witness told police, according to the report, “How much would it cost for us to [have sex]?”

The white male subject told police, according to the report, at that time he struck the unknown Hispanic male subject in the face twice with a closed fist.

The white male subject told police, according to the report, “I know I had the first punch but I didn’t like the way he was talking to my girl,” and he wanted to sign complaints against the unknown man for battery.

The unknown Hispanic male subject was described as 20-30 years old, average size and build, wearing a white collared shirt and khaki pants.

The woman told police, according to the report, an unknown Hispanic male made unwanted flirtatious sexual advances towards her, and she told him she was not interested, according to the report.

The unknown Hispanic male asked her, “How much would it cost for us to [have sex]?” according to the report, and she was alarmed and disturbed by the remark because the unknown man leaned in very close to her when he said this, police stated. That’s when the two men began fist-fighting, she said, according to the report.

Police searched for the van with a Wisconsin license plate in the area but did not locate it, police stated. The man and woman were released from Webster Lane.

Retail Theft

More than $1,700 in pharmaceuticals and other merchandise were reported stolen at Dominick’s, 1555 S. Lee St., between 6 p.m. and 6:06 p.m. on Dec. 29, police stated. A witness reported seeing a woman place baby formula in her bags, exit the store without paying for it and leaving the scene in an older model Mercedes SUV, police stated. Police stated the license plate number given by a witness comes back to a 2002 silver Pontiac coupe.

Police found no baby formula was taken, according to the report, but many other items were including Zantac, Zyrtec, Prevacid, Prilosec, Claritin, Gillette razors, Crest White Strips and more. Property loss was estimated at $1,797.69.

Possession of Cannabis

Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for no headlights on when required on the 2500 block of Devon Avenue, and, according to the report, smelled cannabis inside the vehicle’s cabin at 11:05 p.m. on Nov. 21. One of the three passengers in the vehicle, Dante E. Gue, 24, of Chicago, was charged with possession of cannabis after police located two folded pieces of paper, each containing a green leafy substance, suspect cannabis, in the seat pocket behind the driver’s seat, police stated. Gue was given a court date of Dec. 20 at Skokie courthouse.
