Armed Robbery Near Forest Park Blue Line Station
An armed robbery was reported near Des Plaines Avenue CTA Blue Line station in Forest Park.
A tote bag containing $20, credit cards, a driver's license and insurance card was stolen Oct. 28 from a woman who was robbed at gunpoint near the CTA Blue Line station, 711 Des Plaines Ave., in Forest Park.
The victim told police she was walking south on Des Plaines toward the CTA station to go to work when she saw a man walking toward her. She said that as the two of them met she noticed he was crying. At that point he pulled out a black handgun from his pocket and demanded she give him her purse. After she gave him the purse, he walked south on Des Plaines, but turned and said to her "you did the right thing."
The victim was uninjured in the incident, police said.
