The Des Plaines Police Department provided the following reports.
Almost $2,000 in pharmaceuticals was reported stolen from Jewel Osco, 819 S. Elmhurst Road, between 7:05 a.m. and 7:10 a.m. on Oct. 13. The loss prevention officer for the store told police, according to the report, his manager asked him to investigate a possible theft when he found a door on the north side of the building unlocked and a lot of medicine missing from aisle 18.
The loss prevention officer said when the store opened at 6 a.m. only the south side doors were open. When he reviewed the surveillance video, according to police, he said the man, described as a Hispanic male, 5-foot 10-inches to 5-foot 11-inches tall, approximately 150 pounds, dark eyes, wearing a black fleece jacket, black pants and a dark knit cap, was seen entering the store through the south entrance, unlocking the door on the north side, filling his basket with medicine from aisle 18, and then exiting the store through the north door.
The loss prevention officer told police, according to the report, the same individual had done the same thing at two other stores in the area, Rolling Meadows on Sept. 21 and Arlington Heights on Oct. 11.
Items taken from the store in Des Plaines were 76 boxes of various medicine including Prilosec, Claritin, Mucinex and Abreva. Property loss was estimated at $1,956.90.
Police responded to a report of an intoxicated subject at Rivers Casino, 3000 S. River Road, at 4:08 a.m. on Oct. 13. Casino security stated Stoitchko L. Kokolachev, 34, of Rosemont, pushed another casino patron and became verbally hostile with casino security agents.
As the incident unfolded, according to the report, Kokolachev began pushing other casino patrons, and security brought him back to the holding area for law enforcement at the casino.
Kokolachev was charged with disorderly conduct and given a court date of Oct. 29 at Skokie courthouse.
