Former Des Plaines sixth ward alderman John Dini has died, the Daily Herald reported. Dini was known for his community involvement, serving as a little league umpire and umpire coordinator and board member of the South Side Little League.
Dini also had previously served as chairman of the Maine Township Regular Republican organization, the newspaper reported.

John J. Dini 60 of Garden Prairie and formerly of Des Plaines; beloved husband of Lorene nee Matushek Dini; loving father of Anthony (Katharine) Dini; caring grandfather of Andrew, Daniel and Abigail; dear son of John (late Mary Jane nee Spielman) Dini; fond brother of Lisa and Michael Dini.
Visitation Friday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with Moose service 7 p.m. at Oehler Funeral Home 2099 Miner St. Des Plaines.
Funeral Saturday 11:15 a.m. from chapel to St. Stephens Church, mass will be held at noon. Entombment Queen of Heaven. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Moose Charities - Mooseheart school renovation.
