JACKPOT!

Rivers Casino donated $150,000 to Oakton Community College for Des Plaines resident scholarships ( 1-year scholarships) on October 21. This is one of the largest donations the College has ever received for its scholarship fund.

"Since Rivers Casino opened in 2011, it has been a remarkable partner and a good neighbor, providing strong support for the College," said Oakton President Margaret B. Lee. "We are deeply grateful for this generous $150,000 grant, which will directly benefit the community, enabling Oakton to provide much-needed scholarships for students who live in Des Plaines -- Rivers' own backyard."

In 2013, Rivers Casino has awarded more than $1,000,000 in funding for educational based programs to 16 organizations in Des Plaines and across the greater Chicagoland area. “Rivers Casino believes in giving back to the community.  We believe that education is the root of prosperity and allows each individual to reach their full potential,” said Bill Keena, General Manager of Rivers Casino.
