NOMINATIONS SOUGHT FOR LADER MEMORIAL GOOD CITIZEN AWARD

In other news, Maine Township has issued a call for nominations for Sgt. Karen Lader Memorial Good Citizen’s Award.  Deadline for submission of nominations is March 21, 2014.  The winner, who will be recognized at the Maine Township Annual Town Meeting on April 8, will receive a plaque and a monetary award.

Sgt. Lader, a Maine Township resident from Des Plaines and a well-respected member of the Cook County Sheriff's Police for 15 years who lost her battle with cancer in 2010, went above and beyond to help with Maine Township's Neighborhood Watch program and National Night Out Against Crime. She also worked on Special Olympics and animal rescue.

"In an effort to recognize all the value that Sgt. Lader brought to this community, the award will be presented to a resident who has demonstrated strong support and dedication to Maine Township," said Carol Teschky, Maine Township Supervisor. "We are looking for that person who has gone above and beyond in service to others."

The nomination form is available for download on the Maine Township website www.mainetownship.com.  Nomination forms are also available at the front desk of Maine Township Town Hall.   Forms should be mailed to Maine Township Trustee Susan Moylan Krey, at Maine Township Town Hall, 1700 Ballard Road, Park Ridge, IL 60068 or faxed to her at 847-297-1335.
