Des Plaines Health and Human Services Promotes Mental Illness Awareness

Mental Health First Aid will host an interactive 12-hour course regarding warning signs of mental health problems.

The City of Des Plaines Health and Human Services Division would like you to be aware of the following:

Mental Health First Aid will host an interactive 12-hour course regarding warning signs of mental health problems, including depression, suicidal behavior, psychosis, substance abuse and eating disorders at the Des Plaines Community Foundation & Frisbie Senior Center, 9AM-4PM ,  Tuesday, March 19, 2013 and 9AM-4PM, Tuesday, March 26, 2013, Frisbie Senior Center, 52 E. Northwest Highway, Des Plaines. 

Mental Health First Aid training helps a layperson assist someone experiencing a mental health crisis.  Participants will learn a 5-step action plan which will give them the knowledge and resources to help others in need.  This training program will benefit a variety of individuals from those in the health field to young adults.
