North Shore Radio Club monthly meeting

Are you prepared for the “Big One”?

Be informed, attend the June 12 meeting of the North Shore Radio Club at 7:30 PM in the Heller Nature Center 2821 Ridge Road Highland Park, Illinois .

The North Shore Radio Club is pleased to have as our guest on June 12, 2012, Mr. Dave Hartnett currently working with the Lake County emergency response teams for help in the “Big One”.

Mr. Hartnett was first licensed as K9DRH “ham radio operator” in the Chicago office of the FCC. He served in Viet Nam working at the Army MARS radio station from February 1970 to June 1971 and following that as Non Commissioned Officer In Charge of post communication and the Military Affiliated Radio System radio station at Fort Campbell,  KY.

Upon discharge he was involved with the Forest Service, and the Amateur Radio Emergency Service in Arizona.

He worked wild fires, earthquakes in California, Search and Rescue in mountains and deserts as well as a Disaster Assistance employee for FEMA during hurricanes in Florida.

He does training for NIMS and keeps emergency response teams up to date with the ever changing

world of emergency response by volunteer organizations.

 

The public is invited to this open house meeting 7:30 PM on June 12, 2012 at the Heller Nature Center 2821 Ridge Road Highland Park, Illinois .
