Movers for Moms Collection Drive

Though Mother’s Day is intended to be a joyous occasion for women across the country, thousands of moms will be overlooked on this special holiday because they are forced to live in shelters as a result of domestic abuse or homelessness.

To ensure moms in crisis receive the love and appreciation they deserve this Mother’s Day, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® of Des Plaines is introducing the Movers for Moms® collection drive to the local community to provide critical gifts to local women staying in the Greenhouse Shelter this spring.

The office is collecting small gifts for the women including basic necessities like shampoo, conditioner and lotion, and comfort items like new slippers and perfume. The company welcomes public donations at its Des Plaines office until May 11, when it will take them to the Greenhouse Shelter in time for Mother's Day.

This is the second year that the Des Plaines moving company is working with local schools such as Iroquois Community School to collect essential and comfort items for women staying at Connections for Abused Women and their Children’s Greenhouse Shelter.

In addition to its school partners, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® welcomes local businesses and organizations to join in the effort of bringing relief and comfort to moms in need. Anyone interested in supporting local moms in need can visit www.twomenandatruck.com/moversformom
