Twenty-first Star NSDAR December Meeting

The Twenty-first Star Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at the Park Ridge Country Club, 636 N. Prospect Avenue in Park Ridge at 11:30 a.m.  A luncheon will be served at 12:00 p.m. with a meeting and program to follow. Hostesses for the day are: Ann Michael, Virginia Wingfield, Carol Pauly, and Nancy Ruscitti, Chairman.

Regent Sheila Aszling and the entire chapter are delighted to continue a Holiday tradition provided by the Maine South Vocal Jazz Ensemble, an extra-curricular group of vocalists under the direction of Mr. Matthew Hanes. The group rehearses three days a week at 6:45 AM and enjoys a busy performance schedule with concerts at Maine South and in the surrounding communities. The ensemble is very versatile, but focuses on vocal jazz repertoire: swing, blues, and ballad. They will present "Christmas in Song" for our joyful Holiday program.  Please bring non-perishable and/or canned goods to the meeting for the Maine Township Food Pantry.

Women who are interested in membership in DAR should know that any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership.  DAR recognizes "Patriots" not only as soldiers, but anyone who contributed to the cause of American freedom.  Contact Second Vice Regent, Dorothy Wilson at (847) 328-6946 for further details.
