Easter egg event set at Des Plaines History Center

Families are invited to learn about the tradition of coloring Easter eggs Saturday, April 19, from 1-4 p.m. at the Des Plaines History Center, 781 Pearson Street. In addition, each child can create a beautiful Easter egg to take home with them.

“We will have a few stations that show the symbolism of egg decorating in various Christian and secular traditions,” said Philip Mohr of the History Center. “Each person can choose their own style of decoration and create a unique egg for the holiday.”

Children and families can drop in any time during the session. Cost is $4 per child for non-members or $2 per child for members. The event is designed for children, ages 5-12, with an adult and is sponsored by the Des Plaines History Center and the Kiwanis Club of Des Plaines. For more information, please call the History Center at 847-391-5399 or visit www.desplaineshistory.org.

The Des Plaines History Center gratefully acknowledges operating support from the City of Des Plaines, the Des Plaines Park District, its members, and other contributors.
