Join the Des Plaines Park district for an Adventure Walk and a day at the gardens! In the heart of historic Rockford is a sanctuary of peace, an abundance of beauty, and a playground of wonder. Klehm Arboretum is a living museum; 155 acres of rare plants unlike anywhere else in the world. We will explore the diversity of trees and plants along their winding trails, and then travel to the Anderson Japanese Gardens, a place for reflection, serenity, and renewal. These gardens are lush with traditional planting, waterfalls, bridges, and sculptures that exemplify the Japanese cultural heritage of respectful humility in service to people of all cultures.
