COME LEARN ABOUT CAMP DOUGLAS RESTORATION

If so, come learn about the Camp Douglas Restoration project at a Coffee Talk to be held at the Des Plaines History Center Thursday, Nov. 14, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. David Keller, managing director of the Camp Douglas Restoration Foundation, will deliver the presentation.
Camp Douglas in Chicago was a Union Army prisoner-of-war camp for Confederate soldiers taken prisoner during the American Civil War. Based south of the city on the prairie, it was also used
as a training and detention camp for Union soldiers.

Keller's interest in Camp Douglas stems from his curiosity about the Civil War, Civil War Prison
Camps, and 19th century Chicago history.
