Proposed Hazing Law Passes Illinois Senate

A proposed law that would make it a crime to fail to report a hazing incident has passed the Illinois Senate, the Daily Herald reports.

Park Ridge Senator Dan Kotowski's proposal would apply to school officials and those who work in a classroom setting. It was created partially due to hazing incidents at Maine West High School and Hoffman Estates High School, the newspaper reports. The proposal now goes before the Illinois House.
