Flood Advisory Issued For Des Plaines River

National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for the Des Plaines River in Cook and Lake Counties beginning Tuesday morning near Gurnee and Riverside.

The advisory continues for the Des Plaines River at Riverside until Wednesday afternoon. The following informaiton was taken directly from the NWS website.

• Tuesday 6:45 a.m. the stage was 6.2 ft.
• Action stage is 6 ft.
• Flood stage is 7 ft.

At 6 ft. water began to overflow into banks in the lower areas that are adjacent to the river. The river is expected to remain steady through Tuesday afternoon.
