The Cubs regular season starts this week, and that means that baseball fever is about to start! Get ready by stepping up to the plate at Mountain View Adventure Center. Beginning on Friday, April 4, our batting cages open at 4:00pm. From Little League sluggers to adult athletes, batting cages are one of the very best ways for baseball and softball players to improve their swing. There is simply nothing like hearing the ping sound that signals the ball was hit out of the park.
At Mountain View there are six cages; choose baseball or softball, from slow to fast pitch. Bats and helmets are included, or you can bring your own. Each $1.00 token is 18 balls, or save by purchasing 6 tokens for $5. The cages are also available to rent by the half or full hour. The cages are open Monday through Thursday, 4:00-9:00pm; Friday, 4:00-10:00pm; Saturday, 10:00am-10:00pm; and Sunday, noon-9:00pm through May 25. Throughout the summer the cages are open during regular park hours, posted online at www.DPParks.org. Boost your own average or get your whole team together for an afternoon of fun.
Des Plaines Park District pool passes for the 2014 swimming season are now on sale. A Mystic Waters pool pass includes full use of the water slides, drop slides, diving platforms, lazy river, zero depth pool, splash playground, and sand play areas. The Chippewa/Iroquois pool pass provides unlimited use of these neighborhood pools and a $1 discount off the resident rate at Mystic Waters. If you purchase or renew your pool pass before May 31, you receive a Recreation Relief Card good for discounts on admissions and concessions at all Park District facilities.
