The Monday Parks Playbook: Chillin’ at the Open

Let’s start the new year off right. More family time, more fun, More……….fore! In fact, let's start this Saturday. Dust off your golf clubs, assemble your foursome, and bundle up! It's time for the Des Plaines Park District's annual Chili Open Golf Tournament. Whether you're a master or a duffer, enjoy nine holes of golf at Golf Center Des Plaines in the glorious January sunshine. You can warm up your swing on the heated driving range, where it’s up to 25 degrees warmer in the bays then out on the course. Chili Open shotgun starts are at 9:00am or noon on January 11. The more snow, the merrier. Although, you will want to avoid those snowmen and chili dips, until you get inside. Then, feast on Club Casa's famous chili. It is just the thing to warm your bones after a morning on the links.

The Chili Open is fun for all ages 8 and older. Now, this is the kind of resolution everyone can keep.
