Monday Park Playbook: Strike up the Band!

On a warm summer evening there is no better place to be than lake side at the Lake Park Memorial Pavilion. Cool breezes. A lovely picnic supper. A beautiful sunset. And an evening of music under the stars. This Thursday, July 18, at 7:00pm, enjoy a free concert by the Des Plaines Park District Community Concert Band. Under the direction of Lawrence J. Carle, this Live at the Lake performance is an all time summer favorite. The Band will perform rousing patriotic marches, golden oldies, contemporary favorite hits, classic music from the silver screen, and medleys from Broadway's best. Come early and enjoy a lovely walk around the lake, take a paddle boat ride, or bring the children for some pre-concert fun in the park. Then, sit back and relax, and enjoy the stirring sounds of the Community Concert Band.

Save the Dates:

Wednesday, July 17, 6:30-8:00pm: The Park It! Patrol will be in Cherokee Park, 1260 White Street at Van Buren Avenue. Don't miss this evening of free fun and games in the park. We're playing croquet, badminton, disk golf, bags, and beach ball volleyball. Or, try our obstacle course, test your skills with our giant Jenga, and make a craft under the tent.
