Week 2: $5 or free at your Des Plaines Park District

The heat goes on...here are a few more ways to enjoy your summer...batting cages, concerts in the park, and Lake Park golf. $5 or free!

The heat goes on...the heat goes on...and while there is still time to splash on in to your neighborhood pool here are a few more ways to enjoy your summer!

1. How's your swing? Kids of all ages can visit the Mountain View Adventure Center and get six tokens for the batting cages for $5. That's 90 pitches, your choice, softball or baseball, fast or slow pitch. Batter up!

2. Pack up a picnic and see Super Stolie and the Rockstars on Wednesday, July 25 at the Lake Park Memorial Pavilion at 7:00pm. It will be a night of musical fun as Stolie covers pop tunes, plays original music, and gets kids up on their feet singing and dancing. (Come early...6ish and make a free craft project at Art in the Park before the show.)

3. Hey golfers...next time you get ready to hit the links, grab your mini-duffer. Kids play golf at Lake Park for only $5 with an adult. No clubs for your little Tiger? No worries. Lake Park has free golf clubs for kids to use courtesy of the Sticks for Kids program. Fore!

4. Love country music? Don't miss Jin and Tonic Band on Thursday, July 26 at 7:00pm at the Lake Park Memorial Pavilion. This cover band plays everything from Taylor Swift to Alabama. It's bound to be "The Best Day" of your week.
