The Monday Parks PlayBook: Tricks, Trips, and Tap!

Fall into fun at your Des Plaines Park District. We have Magic classes, trips to Six Flags Fright Fest, and dance classes for every age.

Fall into fun at your Des Plaines Park District.

1. You can do magic...Try this workshop and see. Coin tricks? Yes! Card tricks? Yes! A little mind reading? Yes! Learn to do all of these things in our one-hour class taught by a professional magician. New tricks are taught every time and all young magicians get to take home the magic-trick props they use in class. Hurry before the class disappears. Abracadabra!

2. Join us for fearful frights, monstertainment, and spine chilling adventures at the annual Great America Fright Fest Trip. On Friday, October 12, we will journey from the Leisure Center to Six Flags where kids can spend eight terror-filled hours of Halloween fun. This event is supervised: kids check in during the evening as they roam from the Necropolis to Port Dread and from Tinseltown Terror to The Ruins of Fenrir. Don’t miss this spooktacular time!

3. If you have always dreamed of dancing on the Great White Way, The Des Plaines School of Dance is where you can get your start. Registration for tap, jazz, modern, hip-hop, and ballet classes in both the Pre-Performance and Performance Program is open until October 13. Our dancers learn more than just the steps; they gain the confidence, inner strength, and poise that will help them succeed in academics, arts, and sports. We have classes for dancers as young as 18 months. A complete schedule and description of classes is available at www.DPParks.org. Put your best foot forward and break a leg!
