School starts next week, and in between shopping for notebooks and jeans, take advantage of a last swim, playtime on a new playground, and free dance classes.

School starts next week, and in between shopping for notebooks and jeans, take advantage of these end of the summer fun-filled activities...

1. This is the last full week is open for the season. August 13-19, noon to 7pm, and August 25-26, noon to 7pm. Float down the lazy river, fly down the giant slides, and build one last sandcastle in Beluga Beach.

2. Apache Park at 2100 Pine Street has a new playground. Join us at the Grand Opening on Saturday, August 18 from 10-11:30am to play on the new equipment and for games and light refreshments.

3. Everybody dance now! The Des Plaines School of Dance will host its annual free day of classes and Open House on August 25 from 9:45am-3:30pm. Try ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and modern moves...meet the teachers...and let’s dance, put on your red shoes and dance...

The Des Plaines Park District Fall Spectrum has been mailed. Copies are also available in all our facilities. A complete book is available online at www.DPParks.org. Check out new classes, programs, and events.

See you around the parks!
