The Monday Parks PlayBook: Magic, Middle School Drop-In, and Music

It's the most wonderful time of the year...There is so much to do, don't miss a minute of the fun: a magic workshop, Middle School Drop-In, and the Concert Band's Holiday show.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year...There is so much to do, don’t miss a minute of the fun!

1. Friday, December 7 is a Magic Workshop for kids 5-12. Learn simple sleight of hand, coin, card, and rope tricks from a professional magician. Amaze your friends and family. Kids get a free magic kit to take home. New tricks at every workshop! Abra-abra-cadabra!

2. Saturday, December 8 is Middle School Drop-In. Kids in grades 6-8 are invited to a supervised evening of fun at Prairie Lakes Community Center. What is there to do? We have music, dancing, karaoke, and Guitar Hero. Like sports? We have basketball, walleyball, volleyball, racquetball, and dodgeball tournaments. Looking to just hang out? Come on. Registration is accepted at the door. Pizza and pop are available for purchase.

3. Sunday, December 9, 3:00pm the Des Plaines Park District Community Concert Band performs their annual holiday concert, “A Christmas Festival,” The band will play songs of the season including Sleigh Ride, White Christmas, The Twelve Days of Christmas, The Overture to Miracle on 34th Street, and The Ultimate Christmas Sing-Along. Everyone is invited. Tickets are available at the door. Prairie Lakes Theater, 515 E. Thacker Street. 847-391-5711
