The Monday Parks PlayBook: Festival! Late Night in the Park, Celebrate Prairie Lakes 20th anniversary...

It's a week of fun: Festival! celebrates Mexican Independence Day with food, singing, dancing, and fun, Late Night in the Park for kids in grades 5-12, and Prairie Lakes turns 20!

It’s a week of celebrations with family and friends...

1. It’s time to celebrate Mexican Independence Day. What does this mean for you? Festival! September 8 at . Savor amazing Mexican food; enjoy authentic music and traditional dancing on the Main Stage; and celebrate El Grito in style. Festival! runs from 2:00–7:00pm. Admission, activities, and entertainment are free. No te pierdas la diversión!

2. Ready for a night off and a night out for the kids? Saturday, September 8 is Late Night in the Park at Mountain View Adventure Center for kids in grades 5-12. Drop the kids off from 7-11pm and relax. They will enjoy an evening of fun with friends, time in the batting cages to practice their swing, and unlimited mini-golf. The event is supervised and the concession stand is open. This is the place to be!

3. Prairie Lakes Community Center celebrates its 20th anniversary with a week of fitness specials, including an open house on 9/4; free cycling classes and personal trainer consultations on 9/5; free admission to the Fitness Center 5:30am-10:30pm and the gym from 3:30-10pm on 9/6. On Friday, 9/7 save 20% on all annual fitness and racquetball memberships. Get fit, stay healthy! For more information, call 847-391-5711.
