Teens out in Maine Township with important message for adults

Local kids spread message to adults "Thanks for not providing alcohol to teens."

"Thanks for not providing alcohol to teens."

That's the message that teams of teens from Des Plaines, Niles and Park Ridge took to area businesses, asking store owners and managers to display posters for adults to see.

Maine Township teens say alcohol is easy to get and they usually get it from someone or somewhere familiar, such as a friend, party, older sibling or parent.

MCYAF sponsored this project and recruited more than 20 teens and adult chaperones to partner with us to help get the word out that most parents and adults DO NOT provide alcohol to teens. The message is especially timely with prom and graduation season just around the corner.
