Friday is Kiwanis Peanut Day

Kiwanis receives a small donation from many individuals from our community and puts it together in a big giving pool. Then what do they do with the giving pool?

Kiwanis gives all of its donations back into our community. We pay our expenses with members' dues. Here's a list of some of the giving: Kiwanis Club of Des Plaines gives shoes to children, scholarships to seniors graduating from Maine West, and Kiwanis gives to boys and girls ball teams, to scouts, to organizations that serve people with disabilities, and to organizations that serve parents who cannot afford childcare It also gives food to the Des Plaines Self-Help Pantry, and gives to organizations that help victims of domestic violence. Kiwanians also give their time and muscle to cleaning up parks and residences, serving at Bessie's Table, driving for Meals on Wheels, providing bingo with a prize for every participant to senior citizens. Kiwanians volunteer for community events and more. You can be sure every penny of your donation goes to help people in our community. We appreciate and honor your trust.
