Factory Physics Leadership Conference May 8 & 9 Crowne Plaza Chicago O'Hare Hotel

Leaders do not gain a competitive advantage by imitating others. Simply copying what worked in a different business might or might not work in yours. Instead, effective leaders obtain outstanding results by transforming an environment of confusion into an environment of stability. This means establishing predictive, practical control in the face of random events and complex processes. If you want to be a more effective leader, join us in Chicago.

For decades now, leaders have used the innovative Factory Physics framework to achieve outstanding and predictable results in difficult environments. They have established simple, effective, and intuitive practices in the face of poor forecasts with high mix demand and complex processes. You can too. Come to Chicago and hear from the people who have been there to guide you through best practices using practical science. Don’t get left behind. Space is limited.

  • Gus Pagonis - As Lt. General (ret.) in charge of all logistics during the first Gulf War, will share his first hand experiences from leading in stressful environments. Pagonis will also describe leadership skills honed during his work to turnaround the Sears supply chain and the requirements for succeeding in today’s complex and changing environments.
  • Michael George - designer of the Lean Six Sigma methodology and author of several books on that topic, will speak on the next phase of improvement. He will describe how companies can apply practical, comprehensive science to reinforce existing efforts and move beyond the limitations of today’s continuous improvement efforts.
  • Mark Spearman - co-author of the award-winning book, Factory Physics, and developer of Factory Physics analytics will describe how to successfully use science to improve any manufacturing supply chain. Manufacturing processes and markets for products differ widely but the basic physics of process flows and of inventory is the same for any operation. The Factory Physics approach allows leaders to design a production or service supply chain uniquely suited to their particular business environment.

Practical Application

  • Panel discussions providing stories from industry managers and leaders who have successfully applied the concepts in practice.
  • Demonstration of basic concepts of the Factory Physics framework.
  • Linking strategy to tactics to ensure successful execution by balancing the goals of high on time delivery, low cost, and reduced inventory.
  • Discussion of how Factory Physics analytics can accelerate use of existing Lean Six Sigma and Information Technology resources.
  • Description of a powerful SPC-like control limit approach to using your existing ERP system to connect strategy to execution and move beyond outdated “financial ERP”.
  • Methods to optimize the production and inventory decision rules in any ERP system.
  • A means to “schedule without detailed scheduling,” allowing the plant to run without interference until a special cause deviation is detected. Companies unnecessarily adjust schedules too often which lead to increased variability and worse performance—exactly the opposite of what the Factory Physics approach will achieve.
