Rivers Casino Tops $38 Million in March

Rivers Casino raked in more than $38 million in March, and the state’s top-grossing gaming venue cashed in approximately 10 percent more in adjusted gross receipts compared with the same month last year, according to a monthly revenue report published by the Illinois Gaming Board on Friday.

The state’s newest casino generated $38,149,689 in adjusted gross receipts in March, according to the Illinois Gaming Board, which was more than $3 million over last year’s take of $34,827,507.

The Des Plaines casino brought in more adjusted gross receipts and admissions than it did in February; admissions slid slightly to 325,848, compared with March 2012 when 339,911 passed through Rivers Casino’s turnstiles.

, continued as the clear frontrunner of Illinois casinos in both adjusted gross receipts and admissions, however, surpassing the second highest grossing casino, the Grand Victoria in Elgin, by more than $18 million in adjusted gross receipts, and the second highest admissions at the Casino Queen in East St. Louis by more than 165,000. The Grand Victoria brought in $19,661,810 in March, according to the Illinois Gaming Board, while 160,575 people visited the Casino Queen.

Rivers Casino has led Illinois casinos in adjusted gross receipts during every full month of operation since it opened at the end of the summer in 2011.
