Des Plaines Mayor Matt Bogusz has made big promises to the community’s business owners, the Chicago Tribune reports.

During a tour of several area businesses, he said he would streamline the licensing process for those hoping to open a business in town, the newspaper reports. It currently takes six to eight weeks to get a business license in Des Plaines, but Bogusz hopes to get that time frame down to just two weeks. He also said he’d like to create a “rapid response” for would-be business owners so they don’t have to wait so long for the city to take approve things.
