Grazie! Banquets Building up for Auction

Bidding on the vacant property begins online on April 23.

The former “Grazie!” restaurant and banquet hall is going up for auction.

The 27,277 square foot facility has been vacant for more than a year. In January, the Des Plaines City Council rejected a plan to turn the former restaurant into a worship center. The Hanuman Spiritual and Community Center planned to buy the property at 1050 E. Oakton Street, but several alderman voiced concerns about whether the location was the right place for the center.

Studley Inc. is teaming up with auction.com to facilitate the sale of the building. It’s zoned as a C-3 Commercial property. The auction is set to begin April 23 with a starting bid of $225,000.
