As Lisa Laurent, M.D., co-director of the symposium, explains, “Last year our program was an opportunity for local professionals to pause, reach out and reflect as they learned about nourishing their mind, body and soul.  As Founder of the Women’s Physician Group at Lutheran General Hospital and Chair of its Steering Committee, I’d like to acknowledge the amazing support of Advocate’s Executive Leadership. This year we’re pleased to be able to offer our audience a wide range of interesting topics from menopause, cancer and survivorship, heart health and pelvic disease to inspirational reflections and encouragement, the joy of laughter and youth mentorship.”

Carol Rizzie, MBA, Director at Lutheran General Hospital and co-director of the symposium, plays an integral role in coordinating the entire project.  She adds, “We are also deeply appreciative of the support and guidance from our Executive Sponsor, Rev. Kathie Bender Schwich, Senior Vice President of Mission and Spiritual Care for Advocate Health Care.   Each member of the Strategic Planning Group and Project Management Team has pledged to make this year’s symposium one to remember.”

Renee Horton, Director of Imaging Services, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Oncology and the Non-Invasive Vascular Lab at Lutheran General Hospital, is the third co-director of the symposium. In her words, “I’m all about team and showcasing a person’s special talents.  This year, I’m privileged and honored to work once again with the Lutheran General associates from last year’s Project Management Team, as well as new members from around the entire Advocate system."
