Des Plaines Outpaces Surrounding Suburbs in Foreclosure Filings

One in every 283 housing units received a foreclosure filing during April in Des Plaines.

Only one other suburb, Elk Grove Village, had a similar foreclosure rate to Des Plaines, and it was the highest in the group.

  • In Elk Grove Village, zip code 60007, there were 50 foreclosure filings; one in every 283 housing units received a foreclosure filing.
  • In Morton Grove, zip code 60053, there were 25 foreclosure filings; one in every 361 housing units received a foreclosure filing.
  • In Mount Prospect, zip code 60056, there were 54 foreclosure filings; one in every 411 housing units received a foreclosure filing.
  • In Niles, zip code 60714, there were 21 foreclosure filings; one in every 601 housing units received a foreclosure filing.
  • In Park Ridge, zip code 60068, there were 19 foreclosure filings; one in every 791 housing units received a foreclosure filing.
