Slightly Scary, Family-Friendly Events at the Library

Two fun Halloween events Saturday.

This week’s submission comes from Stephanie Spetter, head of Youth Serivces at the Des Plaines Public Library.

Put Saturday, Oct. 29 on your family calendar right now. The is hosting two great activities that your entire family will enjoy.

The presents a Halloween Hoopla craft program in our second floor Storytime Room from 1-3 p.m. Come join in the hands-on activity of making a fun Halloween craft to take home for your Halloween weekend home décor.

Then, at 3 p.m., make your way to the first floor meeting room for “Wild and Wacky Magic by Randy,” where the whole family will have a great time experiencing magic tricks and illusions by Randy Bernstein.

Registration is not required for either of these events.

When the craft area has been cleaned up and the show is over, please look at our wonderful collection of books, music, and movies for Halloween. The library can help you find everything from ghost stories for reading or sharing aloud, to scary sound effects to spice up your Halloween party or trick-or-treat outpost.
