Thursday, July 5 through Saturday, July 7, Southern Style Stand Up, Sonya White!  Sonya White is based in Chicago. Originally from Virginia, she has combined southern charm with big city street smarts to create a show that won her multiple appearances on CBS’ “Star Search” and a promo spot on NBC’s Last Comic Standing 4. Sonya is one of four comediennes featured in the CMT broadcast production of “Southern Fried Chicks,” which was followed up with a DVD and annual tours.

Wednesday, July 11, Modern Day Vaudeville with David Kovac!  David Kovac is a classically trained actor and former street juggler, a full-time performer based in Chicago for the past 20 years.  (BFA in Acting from The Theatre School of DePaul University.)  Regional theatre credits include Lost in Yonkers, Triple Espresso, Charley's Aunt, Servant of Two Masters and the title role in A CT Yankee in King Arthur's Court.  Recent Chicago area appearances include Applegate the Devil in Damn Yankees (Metropolis) and Otto in Noel Coward's Design For Living (First Folio).  

Thursday, July 12, Howard Shraiberg, local musician, sings all of your favorites! Howard Shraiberg is a recording artist, actor, and night club entertainer.  He will be performing his pop, jazz, and blues show for one night only.

Friday, July 13 and Saturday, July 14,  Mamaphobia with Mary Poole returns after many sold out shows July/August matinee and evening performances!!  This hilarious one-woman show about the hysterical, frustrating, and sweet reality of motherhood takes the audience on a journey from pregnancy to parenthood-- that will warm every heart and relate to moms and dads alike.  Written by local playwright and comedian Peggy Ward and performed by Mary Poole, this show sends everybody home laughing.

You will relate!  From sleep deprivation and body image, to loneliness versus playgroup one-upmanship, this fabulous show highlights every mom's experiences and finds comedy in frustration and humor in heartache. July & August show schedule:

Thursday, July 19, Live Music with SHADY GRADY & THE NOBODIES, 8pm!  Hailing from Chicago, IL, Shady Grady & The Nobodies (SGN) play a uniquely diverse brand of funk, blues, and rock. With, their newfound blue-funk sound, Shady Grady & The Nobodies is the newest and funkiest member of the Chicago music scene. SGN bring their 4-piece tour-de-force to the masses and have since been performing their brand of funky, bluesy, triptacular rock at local Chicago venues. With influences like The Allman Brothers, P-Funk, Jimi Hendrix, and Pink Floyd, the electric pulse wave of a live Shady Grady show is more than enough to get the brain sizzling and the bodies moving. SGN released their debut LP, This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things, on July 24th, 2011 and are currently preparing for their summer 2012 tour of the East Coast and the Southern U.S.

Friday, July 20 through Saturday, July 21 ( plus August 23-25), Collin A. Bullock returns with The Best of Stand Up Comedy Showcase.  Collin A. Bullock is a young comedian, based out of Chicago, who's tearing up the national scene like a weevil with a rocket on his back. Collin's been touring the country for several years now, emceeing and featuring at some of the top clubs and colleges in the nation. He's worked rooms such as The Comedy Store and The Laugh Factory in LA, Zanies and Second City in Chicago, Comedy Club on State in Madison, The Wisconsin Dells Comedy Club, and much more! He's even appeared on television AND on Sirius XM.  He also once ate an entire pie on a bet. He's a hell of a guy.

Wednesday, July 25, 8pm, RICK MARCH, comedy headlliner and opening, local writer & stand up, PETER LIPSEY!

Rick March was born and raised in Chicago.  He has been slinging barbs and wisecracks since he was born. His first words were to the doctor in the delivery room, 'Go bleep yourself, its cold out here!' A steady diet of donuts and self-loathing combined with a passion for making people laugh, Cranky Ricky has been described as 'Don Rickles on Steroids'.  From Zanies to The Comedy Store to anyone who will listen, Rick slings his sarcastic barbs and observations on the inane to make fun of everything stupid and everyone too serious about life.

Peter Lipsey lives in Wilmette, IL, a suburb just north of Chicago with his wife, three kids. Unlike other comedians, he has had many jobs in the "real world" including being a licensed Realtor, before delving into the business of being funny.

Thursday, July 26 through Saturday, July 28, Dobie “Mr. Lucky” Maxwell, one of the top touring comedians in North America brings his live show, a whirwind of words, a virtual verbal hurricane.  Every time his is on stage, Dobie tests the stamina of his audience.  His slick ranting style has earned him a loyal and growing fan base and his knack for saying what a lot of people think, have kept him constantly booked from coast to coast.

KARAOKE TUESDAYS – TAKE THE STAGE AND SHOW YOUR VOCAL TALENT!

Calling all singers out there, grab your friends and come check out the latest sensation at The Laughing Chameleon, Karaoke Tuesday!  Every Tuesday at 9pm our DJ is ready with all your favorite tunes and no cover is charged.  Let her know your favorite song, grab the mic and take your turn on our beautiful stage or just sit back and watch the fun and enjoy a signature cocktail, cold beer or glass of wine.  Who thought Tuesday night in The Glen could be so fun?!

OPEN MIC MONDAYS

The fun and laughs don’t stop there! The Laughing Chameleon’s 8:30PM “Funny Monday Showcase” continues to gain a following.  For only $10, attendees laugh with 5-6 wonderful local talents ranging from comedy, music and improvisation to magic and illusion. Performers must sign up in advance by sending an email to theglenbooking@gmail.com, or through their listing on Badslava.com.

PRIVATE PARTIES & GROUP EVENTS

The Laughing Chameleon is available for private parties and meetings on Sundays and other times throughout the week, in addition to regular show times with special group rates for 10 or more. With a prime location in The Glen, The Laughing Chameleon’s unique atmosphere and brand new facility is the ideal location for any event, whether it’s corporate gatherings, birthdays or bachelor and bachelorette parties.  The Club’s glossy décor, full-service bar and small plate restaurant service are sure to impress!  Group sales packages are also available for regular show performances.  These include discounts and reserved seating as well as special food and drink packages.

THE MENU

The Laughing Chameleon offers a full bar with specially designed cocktails, small plate restaurant service (provided by the adjacent Flight Restaurant & Wine Bar), and top quality entertainment - all in the heart of Chicago’s North Suburbs. Menu items, priced between $5 and $10, include: sliders, tacos, empanadas, Tuscan fries, beet salad, flatbreads, hummus platter, and desserts.  Special catering packages are also available with Salerno’s Pizza & Pasta.

The Laughing Chameleon is also proud to feature custom-created celebrity cocktails including the Lady Day, the Happy Birthday Mr. President, the Chairman of the Board, the Speakeasy, and the King of Rock & Roll which includes Jeremiah Sweet Tea, light rum, blue Curacao, pineapple, and crème de coconut in a in a Tiki style glass. A wide variety of cocktails, beer, wine and champagnes are also available.

ABOUT THE LAUGHING CHAMELEON

The Laughing Chameleon opened in December 2011.  It will be open Monday through Friday, 6:30pm to 1:00am, and Saturdays from 6:30pm to 2:00am. Sundays will be available for private events. Shows will be at 8pm from Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, 9pm on Friday. Funny Monday Comedy Showcase ($10) will be at 8:30pm every Monday. Karaoke is every Tuesday at 9pm, no cover.  General admission show tickets will be priced at $10 and up. Although we love all ages, The Laughing Chameleon is a 21 and up entertainment venue for evening shows unless show is specified as all ages.  Proof of ID is required. On adult show nights, there is a two-drink minimum per person. If the minimum is not met, a $6 per drink service charge is added to the bill. Tickets and two-drink minimum are subject to 4% Glenview Entertainment Tax. Annual memberships are also available.
